I grew up on Beulah Street, which is directly across the street from Kezar Stadium. We could watch the 49ers play from our living room window on the 3 floor of our victorian flat, back in the day. I miss my city.

I’m currently working with the 49ers on their Hall of Fame/Heritage Museum at the new Santa Clara stadium. I’m trying to locate artifacts from the old Kezar Stadium for inclusion in the museum. Just wondering if you might have any leads or info on people with interesting memorabilia.

I agree about doing something to restore and open the Mother’s Building. I recently wrote a bit about it on my Zoo related blog – iamnotananteater.blogspot.com

I would love to see the Historic Mother’s Building, renovated and turned into a history Museum. I would love to see old Photos, Video, Memorabilia ect. One Keeper told me there is Video footage of our Chimps. I would love to be able to see that footage. I love our Chimps, who have lived at the Zoo for over Forty Years. There is no reason to horde this wonderful history away when it would be shared with the people who really love the Zoo and possibly make more people appreciate the Zoo. It would be a wonderful tribute to the Fleishhacker Family for their vision to open our wonderful Zoo.

Sadly the Zoo Management Team does not seem interested in embracing its History.

Leslie…One can only see what one believes one can see. An open mind and heart are the lenses that open our vision into other worlds and ideas. In this day and age, choosing to be culturally and spiritually myopic seems short sighted.
